The FCC Extender plugin is an extension for the VTi system plug-in FCC (Fast Channel Change).
FCC must be installed and activated for the plugin to be usable.

The extender also integrates FCC into the VTi channel list, Multi-EPG, Multigraph-EPG and direct channel change via number entry (NumberZap).

VTi channel list / Multi-EPG:
If a channel is selected in the channel list or the EPG that is not yet preloaded in the FCC (e.g. a channel from another bouquet), it is activated immediately when selected by FCC, even before the OK button is pressed. If enough time has elapsed to preload the channel when the OK button is pressed, it is available without delay. This is the case, for example, if the user takes another quick look at the EPG description before switching.

Direct switching by entering a number:
If a channel number is entered, VTi will not perform the channel change until after a delay to allow multi-digit numbers to be entered. (The delay is set under VTi -> TV/Radio settings -> [Key assignments 2/5] -> Time limit for switching).
The plug-in uses this time window and loads the channel as soon as the number key is pressed. If the following delay is set long enough, the channel is then immediately visible.

These two options improve the perceived switching behavior.
On my Duo4KSE with a set delay time of 2000ms and Unicable (Jultec), the channel change via number entry now runs smoothly.

Please note that FCC does not work for IP transmitters and that the above functions can only be used when switching between SAT transmitters that are registered in bouquets. I was unable to test the behavior for cable reception.
A delay for the channel list can be set in the configuration. This has the effect that fast scrolling in the channel list does not lead to each channel being loaded immediately.
The FCC Extender plug-in always uses the last available FCC tuner, so that the remaining channels loaded by FCC remain loaded if the channel change or number entry is aborted.
